LE ORME

This is a compilation from Le Orme's pre-prog period. I do not want to say that they were one of the greater prog groups of the period, but if they hadn't been prog, then they would not be part of the story. There are some good ideas here & there but often not especially deep. Reasonable music produced in a period of large musical changes.

In my mind this is a strange compilation. In fact with this compilation I found the pre Prog period of Le Orme. At the same time other compilation of pre Prog phase of Le Orme are better. Today this CD is in my collection only because important for me.

Musically the music is a sort of Rock Beat without real psychedelic moments. The songs ar all originals, so that the music is placed in the vein of Beat Italiano, also if not close to Proto Prog as other Italian bands (I Califfi, I Quelli... For example). Good technique but poor sound production.

So, this compilation is nothin' of special.
