4 stars multi instrumentalist, "Journey" represents a vast catalogue of arpeggiated organ motifs, romantic melodic piano lines...It contains gorgeous instrumentals written in a rather neo- classical "symphonic" style. The long "epic" title track can be considered as the best musical moment. It focuses on delicate, precious, fragile synth chords, including well executed neo classical piano parts. The composition begins with a magical surrounded synth ambience based on analog equipments. The haunted, dramatic and ethereal atmosphere reminds me some Klaus Shulze's essays during his golden years. After a very long prelude the track incorporates some mellow elements of piano. the last minutes feature a furious avalanche of electric guitar solos. A "dramatic" shadow is floating upon this composition: beautiful dreamy "romance" in a very accessible style. The following tunes carry on the same schema, alternating or combining delicately beautiful but sometimes very "cheesy" piano parts to vintage synth electronics. "Jesus Christ" is a rockier song, featuring a good progressive dynamic and some vocals. A very pleasant, colourful piano / synth musical adventure.
