3 stars A beautiful album, with simple but excellent piano work by Rick.

Most new albums by Rick have this irritating band, The New English Rock Ensemble, with a guitarrist too fond of distortion and a singer who's sometimes annoying. So I'm really glad that he left the band for a while and recorded an album with basically his gorgeous piano style. He has such a characteristic way of playing this instrument, which fits perfectly with these songs here. While listening to this, I remembered Natural Timbre, a similar album by Steve Howe, where he plays only acoustic guitars, with almost no other instruments, which combines well with his compositions, and gives us a sense of refreshment after listening to the complex music he often plays with his.

Recommended to those who like piano, calm instrumental music, or Rick Wakeman's admirers. If you're in one of these three groups, it's a good addition to your collection.
