1 stars Extreme common in all departement store this Runaway is nothing of special. If you love Wishbone Ash you hate surely this Runaway. But if you love the Rock music... You don't love this Runaway, but at least the bear and listen very happy. Ely78 center the problem of this album: extreme good if you consider Runaway like singular release in Wishbone Ash discography... But for a dump in the comparison for the rest af Ash's discography. So I think that Runaway is only a live album in the vein of last incarnation of Wishbone Ash: Not Prog, Not Heavy... But Rock, only Rock.

4 stars This release is now hard to come by, but a few years ago it was readily available on top of the discount binns for a budget price. Not much info available on it anywhere online either. Since there is not much info disclosed in the CD cover, I'll venture to guess that this is from a promotional tour for "Just Testing" release, given that the opening track is "Helpless". Under that assumption, this must have been recorded in '80-'81. I have come across numerous compilations where the various record companies bunch two concerts together on two CD's, and release it under a different name to make a quick $. This identical tracklist appears as CD #1 on few of them as well. So if we dig deeper, and assume further that those represent the same recording as this release, we can make some comparisons. First off, the copy I have has a slightly different cover image, the track list is identical to this listing, the CD is gold color, released by "k-Point Gold", and as mentioned above, not much info, simply due to the quite unusual CD sleeve. It is not paper, the cover image is rather translucent and made of plastic! The audio quality is very good on this version, very clear separation, no hiss, the recording volume level is about average, my only gripe is that is seems to be in Mono! As far as the performance of the band itself goes, it rivals the "Live Dates 2" since it is most likely the same line-up. It is more suited for someone who is a completist when it comes to this band, such as myself. I find it to be a nice addition to the Live Dates 2 release.
