4 stars 'D'yer Maker' - Led Zeppelin (Single)

Seeing as this isn't technically a product I can review as a whole, I will opt to review the two songs seperately, than come to a final consensus on the matter.

'D'Yer Maker' has always been one of the more fun Zeppelin songs for me. It has a very catchy reggae beat, and it's easy to consider them a progressive band when they're pulling off styles like that in the British hard rock scene. A personal favourite of mine from 'Houses of the Holy.'

'Over The Hills And Far Away' is also a great song, more loved than 'D'yer Maker' even. The one thing about it though is that it shines so much more live in concert (the 'How The West Was Won' concert specifically, and after listening to it live, my interest on the studio release weakens greatly. Still a great song.

I'd probably give 'D'Yer Maker' a 3.5 and 'Over The Hills And Far Away' a 4 out of 5. Round that up and you receive a 4.

3 stars As well as loving prog music, I am also a big fan of reggae, so "D'yer Maker" has always been one of my favorite Led Zepplin songs. This was released in 1973 and also contains "Over the Hills and Far Away, which is a great live number on several releases. Both are solid Zep tunes and I can't pan either of them much. "D'yer Maker" is, of course, a great choice to release as a single by the band. Good addition to a collection of Led Zepplin music for anyone. The albums are overall better however, so I can give this only 3 overall stars.
