2 stars Bar Code is 5uu´s second recording, after their first LP Bel Marduk & Tiamat. The line up includes some of the habitual collaborators of the period, so the overall sound is quite similar to those other recordings. Misery Loves Company sounds as a mix between old no-wave bands and a suggestive RIO flavour (something similar as if earlier Tuxedomoon had a more aggressive side). The final section of the track, with furious sax by Lynn Johnston, is quite interesting, although the overall result is not really exciting.

Hot & Cold Frog is far more interesting, because of the inclusion of vocal chorus and lots of changes throughout the less than 4 minutes of the song, much more elaborated than the previous one and more in the vein of their future works, reminding us the great quality of the performers.

Despite the more than acceptable final result, the fact that this recording appears on the Point of Views compilation and that the original vinyl is more a collector item, I will rate it with 2 stars.
