3 stars Miles still kicks!

After 1972, and poor "In Concert" double-LP, the next Miles live shows will be recorded not until 2 years (Agharta and Pangea), and the year 1973 remains 'empty'. Only huge - rare and expensive - Montreux Concerts box and 2CD "Another Bitches Brew" shows his directions in that time (and some bootleg stuff like Stockholm and Berlin videos).

This budget-like release contains a lot of very fine and good quality stuff. After last studio album - "On The Corner" - Miles lost his interest in complex jazz-fusion and go straight into a heavy jazz-rock-funk with only wah-wah solos, heavy drums/percussion/bass section and long, 'fat' guitar and sax solos.

And it really works! The opening set is full of energy, rather similar to hard-rock playing than avant-garde style from few years before. Miles, unfortunatelly, doesn't hired new keyboardist who would certainly add more complexity. However the music is still far from simplicity - and still mailny for Miles fans or lovers of "fusion meditations"/long-lasting jams.
