3 stars Hugo Flores is a young musician from Portugal who manage to release a single album under his name in 2000 named Atlatis. He is mostly known as guitarist, keyboardist and main composer from two progressive metal bands from Portugal, Project Creation and Sonic Pulsar. Before joyining these two bands he release a solo album, who was good recived by the listners and critics aswell. The music from this album is quite diffrent from Project Creation and Sonic Pulsar two , Atlantis is more towards eclectic prog , full of intristing guitar elements and ambiental moods. The album is mainly instrumental, with some vocal parts made by him, who are good, but is less intristing like his main instrument guitar. I prefere him as a solo musician then in Project Creation for ex, here is more calculated, more choesive, the eclectic moments are realy great shown, but is not an entirely solid album. I don't realy like the drum programming on some pieces, sounds dull and for begginers, but as a whole if you skip over this minor problem, the album is good. All pieces stands as good, nothing over the top , but pleasent most of the time. 3 star for Atlantis, a good one but far for being an essential work.
