3 stars 'One Little Victory' is the single coming from "Vapor Trails" and it was definitely a good choice as it is one of the best tracks in a fairly pedestrian album. The lyrics are potent because Peart was penning the awful agony of losing both his daughter and his wife in tragic circumstances. It is an ironic song title for this reason but it was a victory for the band to even get together and record again. The lyrics reflect the pain of loss and grief and as such have a lot to say to us about suffering as we may have to face a crisis in our lives. The lyrics include; "A certain measure of righteousness, A certain amount of force, A certain degree of determination, Daring on a different course, A certain amount of resistance, To the forces of the light and love, A certain measure of tolerance, A willingness to rise above".

Peart is urging us, and I guess himself, to rise above what has happened and to continue despite all that has happened. The optimism is refreshing and is reflected in the high energy and uptempo music. 'One Little Victory' begins with a thunder clap of loud guitar and drum pounding. The band sound serious and really thrash this out with conviction. Rush are back and this single proved it. It is melodic song with tons of heavy guitar riffs.
