3 stars With 'Pléroma Sum' BOSQUES offer a challenging workout. This duo is from Argentina and plays music close to krautrock while using many hypnotic trippy textures. Just take the deep toned voice on the opener DormÍ O Ve which is repetitively placed, mantra like so to say. Backed by a stomping behaviour this song expresses some kind of mystery really. Guitars are stylistically alternating between post and space rock .. and although more of a shoegaze feel this finally evolves to a rather furious end.

Provided with hallucinogenic ambience the extended Numen Omen surely represents the highlight. The song is outfitted with a simple slowtempo flow over the course of more than 17 minutes. Nevertheless they are able to deliver an irresistible tension - anytime soon you are caught up in a (gentle) maelstrom. This is guaranteed by multiple layers filled with well corresponding space guitar and grumpy cello. On top of it you will detect really wonderful effective vocals which put you in hypnosis sooner or later.

Libro Para Salir Al Dia is the shortest track, mellow floating, I hear some Pink Floyd reference, although this is also decorated with a wonderous drum playing which I normally would expect from a marching band most likely. All in all this is a fine debut. Multi-instrumentalists Markos and Jc provide around 30 minutes of interesting stuff here ... when you're keen on experimental trippy music.
