3 stars German band INVERTIGO is based out of the Ruhr-area in Germany, and has since 2006 sought to explore and create progressive rock that maintains the structural complexity of the old giants of the genre yet also comes out as accessible and melodic. They made their debut in 2011 with "Next Stop Vertigo", and "Veritas" from 2012 is their sophomore production, released by the German label Progressive Promotion Records.

"InVertigo" has made a fine album with "Veritas", a smooth and melodic production that strikes a fine balance between exploring gentle, melodic passages and harder edged, metal-oriented sequences. Generally light in tone and spirit, with something of an uplifting mood throughout, this is an accessible and easy on the ears endeavor that I suspect will find its key audience amongst fans of bands like Toxic Smile and Sylvan, the former of these perhaps not surprisingly signed to the same label as InVertigo.

4 stars Invertigo needed 2 years to come with the follow up named Veritas released in spring of 2012, and I must tell you worth the time waiting, another excellent album by this discrete and unknown band from today. A real delight and pleasent compositions, great skills , easy playing made from this album another worthing investment for sure. Each piece show Invertigo in a great form, kinda same with the first one in manner of composing, nice interludes between musicians. complicated twists and turns, tempo changes, complex arrangements with lots of instrumental sections that are really impressive. Opening track Darkness, Dr. Ho, Suspicion or the longest tune of the album Memoirs Of A Mayfly (22 min of pure delight) are great examples of how inventive this band is and in same time very unknown to larger public. Realy a shame because , they areat least to me , one of the most intresting young band around with one head above neo prog bands from today. They also incorporates very well some prog metal elements, but without being a prog metal band, the combination of neo with some prog metal elements here works perfect 100%. Another great album that must be discovered by many listners. 4 stars for sure for this second offer, recommended both albums, they are a band to watch in the future. Really talented and inspired bad from germany. For Fans of Kight Area, Splinter, Richocher, etc. Recommended, so far their best album and one of the top albums from 2012 from this field.
