3 stars So you've tumbled upon the incontrovertibly noisy and conglobulated mass that is Ruin's Refusal Fossil. If you have ever heard one song by these crazy Japanese, you'd know that this is not for the faint of heart, or faint of ear (although being hard of hearing might help you appreciate the album.) Two thirds of this album is new material and the other is older stuff played live, and concerning those, for the most part stick with the originals (Except a brief intriguing Prog Ruins-style medley with many a tunes you should recognize.) Despite Ruins' rough sound that just melds together, they really do some interesting things, mostly with rhythms, that can't necessarily be put into words. I'll give this album three stars for the good material (Title Track, Uskilsdos Zaimm, Eccentric Ditch, Sill Life, Heraklion.) The other stuff... ehh, it kind of sounds like a noisy and conglobulated mass, if that makes any sense.
