4 stars Fun and Serious Chops!

Yvette Young and co. have assembled a collection of songs here that I think would appeal to fans of Stanley Jordan, Exvious, & Genetics (formerly Dianetics) and maybe to some degree Michael Hedges.

She has fabulous technique which never makes any of the songs seem designed to wow with virtuosity, yet never fail to impress nonetheless!

Here we find really strong compositions that are allowed to grow and breathe and wander.

Yvette uses mainly clean tones to incorporate virtuosity into the structures of the songs rather than to noodle about over the top as many guitar oriented albums oft do. The rhythm section of David Adamiak and Keith Grimshaw help to move the music effectively and efficiently. And the voices on the closer Sea Dragon shows Yvette to have a very pleasant voice too! This is engaging and refreshing, recommended indeed for fans of technical, guitar oriented but not Metal instrumental music!

As always, your mileage may vary,

Grace and peace, Cylli (Jim)
