'67 - '85

Warning: if you are not familiar with this band and you are looking for some New Trolls' progressive stuff this is the wrong starting point. This is not a "Best of" but just a collection of songs focused on the "pop side" of the band: you can find here just a few interesting progressive tracks released before only as singles like "Venti o cent'anni" and "La prima goccia bagna il viso (first and second part)", but only a short excerpt from "Concerto grosso per I New Trolls", only two tracks from "Ut", no tracks from "Searching For A Land" and no tracks from "Concerto grosso n.2. All the other tracks are more or less pop ones like "Musica", "Là nella casa dell'angelo", "Poster", "Faccia di cane", "Anche noi" (some were released before only as singles or were included in other compilations, so this collection could be of some interest at least for fans and collectors)... I can't say that this is a bad album but I think that it's almost useless.

Normally i buy this type of releases for a good listening in my car. Since this fact is the only through the purchase I see the good track listing. That is not bad. But not for progsters. Or maybe... This is also a track listing for Progsters but since is only a track listing for Fonit Cetra and Warner Music ittaly (today two brands of Warner Music) it is clear that Rock and POP dominates. Rock for new Trolls is equal to Proto Prog, of course. POP is equal to commercial POP. But with interesting songs. All the ingredients of New Trolls are presents in this 2 CDs compilation. But I think that the more recent 'I Grandi Successi' is better. But not because for true Progsters... Also if for Progtrers.
