Artist statement excerpt:
"My third cassette using the name Trance, in 1989, was a departure from the previous two noise-rock-style releases. For years, my favorite albums had been Coil's "Horse Rotorvator" and Foetus' "Nail", and when I obtained a used sampler, I put it into use immediately. I still have the same Ensoniq Mirage, and its somewhat dirty 16-bit samples (saved on 3.5" floppy disks!) sound wonderful. So on this release, I indulged my more industrial-orchestral tendencies, and I still like it a great deal. It's still got its share of noisy guitar, but the strings, percussion, and piano on songs like "March of the Dead..." and "Shooting" were exactly what I was going for back then."
