RXP biography
Formed in San José, Costa Rica, on 2009 originally as a trio with Carlos WONG (guitars), César SALAS (bass) and Alex BONILLA (drums). Since the very beginning they were looking to experiment and improve technically, through a less conventional sounds, always keeping the heaviness and strength of metal music and the eclecticism and versatility of progressive classics and multiple genres. Although the composition and the basic structure of the songs were proposed at first by Wong, it was the experimentation and the energy of each musician what've made the particular sound of the band. Between 2009 and 2010, always fascinated by philosophical subjects as Language Philosophy, Logics, and Science, towards conversations and critical thinking about human condition, they've finished the concept, was about to become "Pathos", and the urgency to communicate through sound and music instead of through any word.

Even when RXP started playing at some concerts in San José, the trio was aware that the songs still required more texture and colour, that only the sound of synth could bring. In 2012, Mauricio DELGADO brought that sounds, not only by completing the actual RXP line up, but to integrate synergically, and to provide a new world of possibilities and life to the songs. Already as a quartet, RXP was going to continue playing live for about a year, at the series of concerts "Progressive Gig" along with other recognized and excellent bands of the progressive Costa Rican scene.

After these series of concerts, the band was ready to begin a new experimental journey with the recording of their first long play material. In 2013 they started the recording of "Pathos" in Quasar Studio, Carrizal, Alajuela, with César Salas as a producer, and it extends all the way through december 2017, with the mix and mastering in Bushido Audio Productions in charge of Juan Pablo Calvo (Time´s Forgotten), released in January 2018. Nowadays, the band is starting to experiment and compose what is going to be the second album.
