Drokk biography
DROKK was a music soundtrack project formed by Geoff BARROW of PORTISHEAD with TV composer Ben SALISBURY. BARROW and SALISBURY knew each other since around 2002 but other work commitments kept them from fully collaborating until 2010 when a possibility rose of working on a feature film project. The film collaboration didn't continue but they continued expanding on ideas created during that time and as inspiration chose one of the locations from 2000AD comic series, the atmosphere of futuristic Mega-City One, also known as the main location for 'Judge Dredd' stories. The album was eventually recorded in 6 months between BARROW's PORTISHEAD tour and SALISBURY's composing work for BBC, and is recommended to fans of modern electronica and ambient music without the usual orchestral nature of many contemporary film scores.
