Reaktor 4 biography
Formed 1972 in Bottrop, Germany, disbanded in 1976

REAKTOR 4 was founded by teenagers Siegfried Meier (guitar, flute) and Johannes Brackmann (guitar), soon followed by Jürgen Kirsch (vocals, guitar) and Reinhold Stania (drums) to complete a full-fledged outfit. Kirsch though left the new established band right away and was replaced by Paul Döing, where Brackmann switched to the bass guitar.

They started to record songs for their debut album, which was unreleased for a long time. Stania, Meier and Brackmann met in 2017 to re-discover their stuff and to prepare for some live gigs. German Garden Of Delights label then published those early recordings in the same year. The original album is enhanced with two live cuts and an additional studio track from a later period which also sees Michael Tietze on percussion.

Technically seen provided with bootleg quality partially and not overly prolific all the way through 'Pannschuppenczewski' is delivering typical contemporary krautrock improvisations, with a lot of psych and jazz ambience as well as a proper portion of weirdness.
