SCHROEDINGER'S CAT is an artistic moniker used by Sebastian Khan aka 'Iain Hawk'. The project started out as a bigger group called CRYING RAIN back in 1989 in Rome but after the return to his native Germany, Sebastian rebranded it under a new name for a fresh start. Since this conception he has been mostly creating solo with most of the instruments but also with various other musicians over the long career especially for live performances, the most consistent of which was his long time drummer and bass player Larry S. DREAMER.

KHAN has through this project become a hugely prolific artist around the level of BUCKETHEAD for example, with over three hundred records made which is impressive even for the three decades time span. While some of the production quality might be occasionally dubious and not all records might pass a quality inspection of exciting compositions, his passion for music might find some fans in the lookout for music in a particular mood, even if it's just to look for non-hostile background music. Most of discography is on the ambient side and electronic but occasionally it is too raw and noisy to categorize it just as progressive electronic, but comparison to maybe earlier ELOY might steer people in search for cosmic soundscapes in the right direction.
