TYLL is the creation of guitarist Teflon 'Det' Fonfara. Soon after the band Eulenspygel went on hiatus in 1973 for some time, he could convince founding member Günter Klinger (drums) to join his new band. Which at first started under the moniker TYLL EULENSPYGEL. This caused some rivalry about the name copyright furthermore. Subsequently the band was renamed to TYLL finally.

According to the boundless approach which still developed within the German music scene Teflon Fonfara was approached by Fred Kersten, the owner of Kerston Records, to produce an experimental Deutsch Rock album. Without having any concept at all they composed 'Sexphonie', the special title was chosen to accelerate more attention and sales. It remained their sole effort. A Krautrock curiosity, created within twelve days recording time in April 1975 at TFE Studios, Neustadt, Weinstraße.

The music embraces a weird though definitely inspired mix of psych, acid, folk and polit rock. The Guerssen Records sub-label Mental Experience could offer a remastered version in 2016, including more photos, liner notes by Alan Freeman (The Crack In The Cosmic Egg), plus the reproduction of the rare original booklet comic.
