Echorec. biography

A UK-based unit ECHOREC. were formed in 2015 as a progressive rock / neo-symph / post-rock / prog-metal trio by Julian KIRK (voices, guitars, keyboards), Brad McGINTY (bass, voices), and Jake AUBREY (drums, percussion), inspired by authentic progressive rock bands like Rush, Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, Animals As Leaders, Dream Theatre, Big Big Train, or Porcupine Tree. Their debut album "The Island" was released upon February 29, 2020.

The band became a four-piece shortly after the release of the debut album, with Alex ADAMS joining on keyboards in the early spring of 2020 to allow Julian KIRK to concentrate on guitar and vocals. Taiba HORPIN replaced Brad McGINTY on bass in February 2025.
