Cudù biography
An Italian combo CUDÙ got started in 1985 firstly as an experimental new wave / postpunk project by Paolo LOTTI (guitars, saxophones, flute), Luca MAZZANTINI (bass), Walter SCARNICCI (drums), Pierfranco MATURO (keyboards, synthesizers), and Ignazio De STENA (vocals). They released the debut album "Neck" in 1986, just after inviting Andrea BINI as a trumpeter/ trombonist. After their debut work released, CUDÙ got restarted with three avantgarde elements: Paolo, Luca, and Andrea. Their second album "Delivery" created by the trio and released in 1988 was pretty different from the debut stuff. "Delivery" featuring electro-avant-jazz tinged with art rock was appreciated, but in the following year Andrea left the project. Paolo and Luca produced "Vito" in 1989 and "Waterplay" in 1990 in collaboration with Steven BROWN (ex-Tuxedomoon), Luc Van LIESHOUT (ex-Tuxedomoon) and Christian BURCHARD (ex-Embryo), but sadly CUDÙ were disbanded in 1990.
