Bloody Panda biography
BLOODY PANDA is an avant-garde doom metal ensemble, formed by vocalist and visual artist Yoshiko OHARA in New York City in 2003. Their most current lineup consists of OHARA, Josh ROTHENBERGER (guitars/synth), Blake MCDOWELL (organ/vocals), Gerry MAK (vocals) and Lev WEINSTEIN of KRALLICE on drums (his fellow KRALLICE bandmate Nick MCMASTER would also play bass for BLOODY PANDA by 2011).

The band first put out a two-track EP in 2004, re-released two years later as a split with fellow experimentalists KAYO DOT. BLOODY PANDA's first LP, "Pheromone", was distributed by Level Plane Records in 2007, with their follow-up "Summon" coming out on Profound Lore in 2009. A remix album, entitled "Summon: Invocation", was released two years later, featuring reinterpretations of songs by like-minded travellers JARBOE, Toby DRIVER, NADJA, Mick BARR, Edward KA_SPEL and others.

Similar artists in the archives include KHANATE, ORTHODOX, BIRUSHANAH, THE GREAT TYRANT, KAYO DOT, SHUB-NIGGURATH and BUNKUR.
