Verlies biography
An atmospheric, black metal project from Lille, France, VERLIES began in 2010 as a songwriting vessel for main member Naiwan (stylised as N.). VERLIES released their first album, "Le domaine des hommes" on Hypnotic Dirge Records in 2014, where multi-instrumentalist Naiwan was accompanied by three session musicians, known only as T., G. and F., on bass, drums and guitar respectively. Their sophomore LP, "Les oubliés de la chute", was released independently and digitally March 27th, 2020.

Their sprawling, long-form songs reference a number of influences from post-hardcore, jazz and shoegaze, with folk and classical guitar inflections and occasional contributions from horn sections. Musical comparisons can be made to ALCEST, OPETH, EPITIMIA, KATHAARSYS, AGALLOCH and DEAFHEAVEN.
