Two Trains biography
Formed from the ashes of eclectic post-metal band Beyond Dawn, TWO TRAINS were a Norwegian studio project featuring Ole Jørgen MOE (aka Apollyon, guitarist and member of Aura Noir & Lamented Souls, formerly of Dødheimsgard), Einar SJURSØ (drummer and member of Lamented Souls and formerly of Beyond Dawn, Ved Buens Ende & Virus), Olav KNUTSEN (bassist, also of Lamented Souls) and vocalist/guitarist Espen INGIERD (formerly the voice of Beyond Dawn).

Two Trains played an experimental and atmospheric alternative rock with electronic and pop touches, laced with sardonic and cryptic lyrics of isolation, self-doubt and resignation - "of sea-green deserts and derailed dreams," in the band's words. Duplicate Records would release all three of their recordings, starting with their self-titled debut in 2004, followed a year later by an EP called "Feel Free", containing songs written during the same sessions. A sophomore album, "Wrongside", also recorded during 2004-05, was planned but not released until 2017 in an unfinished form on Duplicate Records' bandcamp.

Shades of the musicians' other projects can be heard in their inventive sound, such as the dissonance and occasional metal flourishes which recall Virus, and the depressive pop coupled with Ingierd's uncanny Michael Gira-like croon which resembles his old band Beyond Dawn in their later days, but Two Trains will also be an interest to fans of Swans (especially The Great Annihilator), Radiohead, Anathema, Slint, Ulan Bator and Porcupine Tree (particularly Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun).
