CAVERN OF ANTI-MATTER are a Berlin based krautrock/progressive electronic trio, established in 2012 by Stereolab guitarist Tim Gane during the band's hiatus. With an arsenal of analog synthesizers and drum machines, the band is a further exploration of the krautrock and kosmische sides of Stereolab, mixed with techno, post-punk and jazz influences.

The group initially began as a solo project when multimedia artist Nicolas Moulin commissioned Gane for a double-album's worth of music, which Gane dutifully completed with the help of former Stereolab drummer Joe Dilworth and synthesist Holger Zapf, resulting in the 16-track album 'Blood-Drums'. The record's subsequent success inspired Gane to continue the project, and with Dilworth and Zapf the group would release a handful of singles and EPs and two further LPs, 2016's 'Void Beats/Invocation Trex' (which features contributions from Spacemen 3's Sonic Boom, Deerhunter's Bradford Cox and Mouse on Mars' Jan St. Werner) and 2018's 'Hormone Lemonade', with their most recent work the 2020 soundtrack for the outré horror film 'In Fabric'.
