Universe217 biography
UNIVERSE217 are an avant-garde doom metal quartet from Athens, Greece, active since 2005. As of 2021 the lineup consists of founding members Manos GEORGAKOPOULOS (guitars) and Tanya LEONTIOU (vocals) along with Nikos PANAGIOTOPOULOS (bass) and Manos GIAKOUMAKIS (drums). LEONTIOU's powerful and distinctive voice has earned her comparisons to JARBOE, Julie CHRISTMAS and Ann WILSON. The band issued four full-length LPs and a handful of EPs and splits of their atmospheric, eclectic and depressive metal, and are now currently signed to Ván Records.
