Touch biography
TOUCH was the Munich based duo of Tom Hackl (synthesizers, sequencer, keyboards, flute) and Charly Geisler (drums, percussion, vocals) that released a single album in 1980 in the vein of the dreamy progressive electronic Berlin School sounds of Tangerine Dream and Klause Schulze. Traumwerk 1 translates into Dreamwork and that's exactly what this duo offered. Dreamy electronic sounds directly influenced by the progressive electronic scene of the 1970s. Side one of the album simulated the inner battle of Jesus in Gethsemane with track titles that translated into doubt, impotence and adjustment. The second side featured "Waterdream" and "Skylab" and likewise was more ethereal and dreamy. Unlike many contemporary progressive electronic artists, TOUCH mixed the style with rock primarily with the addition of real drums and flute. The album has so far found only one initial pressing and remains a collector's item.
