Confusional Quartet biography
Confusional Quartet was formed in Bologna, Italy in 1979 by Marco Bertoni (keyboards), Enrico Serotti (guitar), Lucio Ardito (bass) and Gianni Cuoghi (drums). The band delivered a bizarre hybrid of many styles of progressive rock along with what was emerging as Devo inspired new wave music. The band released one self-titled album in 1980 which mixed the progressive compositional fortitude of jazz-fusion and avant-prog along with the quirky spastic zolo style of the contemporary post-punk sounds as well as incorporating bizarre experimental effects more reminiscent of The Residents. Two EPs followed and then a multi-decade absence before the band reformed. Several albums have been released since 2011.
