Orient Squeezers biography
Orient Squeezers is a solo project from the sitar player Håkan Almkvist (Uppsala, Sweden). Håkan Almkvist performs a wide range of musical instruments taken from the Indian traditional-folkish music (tabla, tanpura, and santoor besides the sitar). Håkan Almkvist was involved in many musical projects and activities. Among them we can notice a few names such as "Ensemble Nimbus" and "In The Labyrinth". He was also in charge of the sitar performance in "Stardust We Are" of The Flower Kings. The traditional-sacred music of the west is intertwined with intuitive instrumental ethno-psych rock. A blissed out hybrid of styles and gorgeously spacious ambiences.
