All Hands Make Light biography
ALL HANDS_MAKE LIGHT is a project that consists of the instrumentalist Efrim Manuel Menuck, who is a founder of the post-rock band Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Thee Silver Mt. Zion, and the singer Ariel Engle (aka La Force) of the Indie/ Art Rock band with some post-rock qualities Broken Social Scene ( La Force, Broken Social Scene). During the COVID pandemic of 2020, Engle and Menuck decided to work on a project together utilising filesharing over the internet (collaborating in person would not have been feasible due to COVID protocols). For the inspiration for the project, Menuck had described these times as in-between times ... The old things are sinking with their hands around our throat? There'll be even more beauty there, during the unravelling, and then even more after the dark times are through, and said that there was an idea of making a long thing about 'THE DAWN', the different weights of its radiance, the way it kisses our dumb faces when we rise and leave the night behind, the heaviness of that light when you haven't slept. A hopeful message, perhaps, for dark times.

The project has drone, post-rock, electronic and neo-psychedelia qualities.
