Pajjama biography
Pajjama was a Norwegian electronic rock band from Oslo founded by composer, sound designer and keyboard player Eirik Suhrke. Pajjama originated in 2012 as a backing band for Suhrke's acclaimed video game scores and was featured in this capacity on the soundtrack for the games Super Crate Box and Spelunky among others. That same year however also saw the release of their first EP published under their own name. This was followed by one more EP and two full-length studio albums, the latter two of which were distributed on cassette by Keith Rankin's Orange Milk Records. As of 2018, the band has been dormant and Suhrke has returned to his old familiar gig as a game composer.
The band, which in addition to Suhrke featured drummer Kristian Valbo, keyboard player Bernt Karsten Sannerud and bassist Carlos Reiakvam, self-described its own sound as a combination of "shoegazed beach songs, dark disco and post-apocalyptic prog", a description which does as much justice as possible to the band's quirky, unique and diverse brand of funked up electrified instrumental progressive jazz pop.
