Am I in Trouble? biography
Am I in Trouble? is the one-man band of American multi-instrumentalist Steve Wiener, who also lends his talents to blackened death metal group Ashenheart and post/sludge quartet Negative Bliss. The New Jersey-based project appeared on the scene in spring 2024 with the first of three singles, later releasing its debut LP, Spectrum, both independently and through Negative Wingspan in January 2025. Wiener juggled guitars, bass, keyboards and vocals while recruiting British percussionist Chris Barber to make flesh the programmed drums. Spectrum featured guest support from flautist Ember Belladonna as well as Wiener's bandmates Paul Shryock and Jonathan Hernandez of Negative Bliss and Alex Loach of Ashenheart.

Wiener's experimental, video game-inspired black metal style harkens back to the turn-of-the-century weirdo bands which shaped him, namely Arcturus, Sigh, D�dheimsgard, Borknagar and Solefald. Lyrical themes of trauma and loss sit side by side with odes to Nintendo characters Kirby and Captain Falcon.
