Eppie E. Hulshof biography
EPPIE E. HULSHOF (or Von Haulshoven) is an electronic artist from the Netherlands which connects to the vigorously influenced, or rather perfectly promoted upwards, Berlin School classic indice of electronic mood and taste, doing this in recent times and composing what he either calls "stone age sequencing" or "static" electronic with a human touch. His interest and passion in electronic music hints already 30 concrete years. He released several CDs or cassettes starting the 90s, making of it an unsigned character and a constrict composed music, but lately he released two more than meaningful albums, under label and fan's appreciation. He doesn't play live, but focuses entirely on studio complex work. Two of his collaborations are interesting and important to mention, both made with fellow artist Bert Hulshof: PHROZENLIGHT, having a complex electronic mission sound, and DUTCH SPACE MISSION, grasping the electronic boggle.

The Berlin School attitude can't, of course, be replicated anyhow but in the modern "confuscating" times and styles, yet HULSHOF is notably an artist close to the touches meant with such an orientation. The classic pad resemblances hint none other but TANGERINE DREAM (or the FROESE mid-solo dead ringing, genre "Macula Transfer") and Klaus SCHULZE, out of which the latter artist would be the better charm in which HULSHOF's partifs his music and his knowledge. The essential light characters (though the music has inner composition) appreciation something from Rolf TROSTEL as well. And (as a recent electronic musician) the last and modern resorts of soundscaping, sequencing and mood composing lead to the share of influence and sound power that AIRSCULPTURE or FREE SYSTEM PROJECT have.

The neo-electronica, or the under-courageous sound proof, developed in the early albums (and printed music) as a recognizable weak term, but the latest expressions deem HULSHOF to a fulfilling good sequence play, to hardware synths technique/adaptation, to complex electronic stazis, to cosmic explorations and to ambient un-spared vital signs. Soundscapes and baroque sixth dimension sounds have a interesting pitch, upon the relaxed vibrations, or the "von haulshoven" promoted "tunes". The style can show real class, in any swirling or powerful, technical or speed-mental character. Dark slow appetizers of synth-sone and typed sequences compete into an art that, overall, evolves more than its electronic habit. The details are plenty: rhythmic mellotro...
