Populus biography
POPULUS is a progressive metal band from Montreal, Quebec consisting of William Dubé (percussion), Mirek Hamet (bass, piano, vocals), Maxime Lacoste-Lebuis (guitar, vocals) and Ralph Tacheji (guitar). The band formed in 2003, and started as a cover band playing classics like METALLICA, TOOL, OPETH, PANTERA, MEGADETH, IRON MAIDEN, AEROSMITH and RADIOHEAD. They soon grew and matured as musicians and decided to write their own compositions.

In 2007, they released an EP "Epiphany" and made it available on CD Baby.

WHY THIS BAND IS IN THE ARCHIVES:

POPULUS is a progressive rock/metal band rooted in the metal genre. They expand their music through the exploration of deep melodies and instrumentation fusing the rich textures of piano and acoustic instruments with distorted guitars and a solid rhythm section. They were approved by the Prog Metal Team and are highly recommended.
