Countdown biography
COUNTDOWN is a progressive metal band from Nancy, France consisting of Pierre Heillich (drums), Christophe Hubertus (guitar), Betrand Pirard (bass) and Dave Hubertus (vocals, guitar).

The recorded a five track demo "The Unreal World" in 1997 and would later self release the album as their debut in 2000. They would release a single "Resurrection" in 2001, their second full length album "After a Reign, Legends Appear" in 2002 and the single "Footpath of Stone" in 2005.

They would self release their third full length album "Chains of Martyr" in 2006, fourth studio effort "Break Rise Blowing" (which contains 6 tracks, with some remixes from "Chains of Martyr"), and a new single in 2009, "Outlaw." "Chains of Martyr," "Break Rise Blowing" and "Outlaw" are available for free download at Jamendo.com.

WHY THIS BAND IS IN THE ARCHIVES:

While COUNTDOWN's earlier works were closer to METALLICA and MEGADETH, they showed a more progressive approach to their recorded material by "Chains of Martyr" closer to bands like SYMPHONY X and DREAM THEATER. They were approved by the Prog Metal Team and are highly recommended.
