Landing biography
US act LANDING was formed in 1998, when a project Aaron Snow (guitars, vocals, synths) and Adrienne Snow (synths, vocals) had beemn involved in folded. They decided to form a new band with their friends Dick Baldwin (guitars, bass) and Daron Gardner (bass, drums) - and thus Landing was born.

In between touring and figuring out just where their musical future would be - they even did some punk shows early on - they also released a select few recordings in these early days; and the EP Centrefuge from 1999 was the first that gave indications as to what the collective band were heading towards.

Sometime later they decided to relocate, and when firmly in place in Connecticut a busy phase of this outfits existence began. Concerts, including a summer tour with Windy & Carl, two full albums were issued as well as a split release with aforementioned Windy & Carl; while Aaron, Daron and Dick also found the time to form the side-project Surface Of Eceon with Adam Forkner and Phil Jenkins.

One full length album and two EPs were issued, a split record with Yellow 6 and Rothko saw the light of day too, and an extensive summer tour saw them visiting cities 20 or so different states in the US. For the band the highlight came towards the end of the year, when they were invited to perform at the fifth edition of the Terrastock Festival.

In 2003 the frantic pace of the two previous years slowed down for Landing; with a less hectic concert schedule and only one album released - Passages Through - on their new label K Records.

In 2004 Dick Baldwin had to leave the band for personal reasons; and although still connected to the band after this he didn't have the possibility to contribute as a full time member any longer. The remaining trio soldiered on with various stand-ins, and eventually managed to finish and release the album Sphere in 2004 as well; but the drive and momentum hadd died down now - the band needed a break.

In 2005 long time aquaintance Peter Baumann was invited to join Landing, and a new phase in their career started. So far this has resulted in the full length albums Brocade in 2005 and Gravitational IV in 2006. The concert activity has died down though; and since the spring of 2008 Landing seems to have gone in hiatus.

Throughout their so far eleven years as a band Landing have explored several varieties of psychedelic tinged music; from low k...
