Saunabadh biography
SAUNABADH were founded as a four-piece outfit around Esa LILJA (drums) and Janne HIRVONEN (guitar), in a small town called Ähtäri, Finland in 1990. During the first two years they gigged over 20 times with orientally psychedelic style all over Finland and released a 7'' vinyl 'Penguins' (1993). Although they faced the first crisis of disband on immigration to Helsinki in 1992, Esa and Janne could get through it by recruiting a new bass player. Temporarily Janne left away on account of some differences of opinion among the members but Esa went on playing with several guitar players, and in 1998 SAUNABADH were reborn with Jessica (voices) and Jukka JYLLI (bass, ex-Kingston Wall). Calling J. LEHTO in as a guitar player, they released the eponymous EP in 1999, and the second EP 'Iku-Turso' in 2001 after Janne's return instead of J. LEHTO.

In 2008, through five-year hibernation, SAUNABADH again came back to the scene with much energy and new line up - Esa, Jukka, Mikko OJANEN (keyboards), Altti UHLENIUS (guitar) and Marenne (voices). Now they're carrying out the plan to release their first full album in 2010.
