The Dust Connection biography
Dutch band THE DUST CONNECTION was formed in 2003, following the disbandment of progressive metal outfit Forever Times. Martijn Balsters (guitars, vocals), Niels van Dongen (bass) and Robert Spaninks (drums, percussion) were eager to get a new band going, and when they hooked up with Jeroen Voogd (vocals) and Sander Heerings (keyboards) The Dust Connection was the result.

The new band soon started recording a demo, which was released in 2004 to favourable rceptions. The were invited to play at the ProgPower festival in 2004, and have opened for acts such as Evergrey, The Gathering and Devin Townsend after that time. At some point in time events stopped evolving though, and it was a pleasant surprise when the band resurfaced in 2008, now with a new bass-player in the shape of Jorg Kurten. Even better was the fact that they were working on a new album. The Dust Connection were signed by Snakebite Records in October 2009, who released the band's debut effort Trails December 11th the same year.
