And Harmony Dies biography
Italian outfit AND HARMONY DIES was formed by Mauro (guitars) and Black (bass, vocals) back in 1995, both of them former members of thrash metal outfit Darkspirits. Another former band mate, Filippo (drums) was recruited, with Franz (keyboards) finalizing the line-up for this new act, at this stage using the moniker Harmony Dies. Come 1996 and a fifth member, Davy (guitars) is added to their ranks as well.

They cut their first demo tape De Terrificationibus Nocturnis in 1997, and while it was given a less than hearty welcome in thge metal community 500 copies of this production was shifted. The following year a new demo was crafted, The Beginning, whcih sold a respectable 1000 copies and generally was given a positive reception. A record deal, which was a stated aim for the band at this point, failed to materialize despite of this.

Founding member Mauro left the band in 1998 to pursue other possibilities. Jack (guitars) was chosen as his replacement, and turned out to be a valuable addition also in the composing department. One year later Franz opted to leave, to concentrate on his studies. At this point Black decided to reform the band, and taking on additional instrumental duties himself Harmony Dies now became a duo, with Rob Desimoi (guitars) contributing. This creative duo recorded and self released the bands debut effort Tristesse et Autres Drogues . Soon after Black formed Pyramid Records to release the releases of the various bands he is involved with.

In 2002 Maelstrom (drums) and Whisper (keyboards) join as permanent members, and the band opts to change their name to And Harmony Dies at this point. The first album to be released by them is a compilation consisting of old material though, as old Harmony Dies recordings are assembled, some rerecorded and others merely remixed, and finally released as the CD Trinity in 2005. Maelstrom left the band in 2006, and the remaining trio crafted, recorded and released the studio effort Flames Everywhere in 2007. Soon after the album release Void (bass) hooked up with the band, but decided to leave again in 2009. The latest news from And Harmony Dies is that they are working on material for a new album.
