Chinese Beard biography
CHINESE BEARD was born around 2008 as a one-man musical project by Teemu KURKI. The debut Shades of Tomorrow was self-released in June 2010, with KURKI playing all instruments, programming drums and handling vocal duties.

It was evident early on that KURKI would make mainly instrumental music influenced by various different musical styles and artists of the last four decades. Although CHINESE BEARD's music is hard to categorize, it's clearly progressive as it has many different twists, turns and time signature changes within songs. The music consists of long orchestral compositions with progressive themes and melodies and balances between harder and mellower parts. While CHINESE BEARD can be called progressive metal, it can just as easily be regarded as progressive rock with a hard rock edge. Nevertheless CHINESE BEARD is part of the larger musical style known as progressive rock.
