Pandemonium biography
PANDEMONIUM was formed in 1997 by Thomas Hellord AHLGREN and Oskar WESTESSON in Lund, Sweden. After a few local gigs, the band got small following and their first demo was released in the spring of 1998. After two EP releases, many more live performances and a few changes in the lineup, it was finally time for the band's debut album. "Insomnia" was released in 2002 though JCM Records and featured a traditional approach to Black/Death-metal, but those who payed attention might have notice definite stabs at Progressive Metal sound in the mix.
It took PANDEMONIUM a few more years to follow up their debut album due to problems with their label, which ended with JCM Records canceling their contract. The band finally got a new record deal with Prodisk/Profusion and "The Autumn Enigma" was release in the summer of 2006. The band suffered a blow in 2007 when their founding member and guitarist Oskar WESTESSON left PANDEMONIUM.
Fortunately it didn't take the remaining members long to reassemble and the band's third full length album "Whispers" was released independently in 2008. The album featured an even deeper dive into the Tech/Extreme Metal compared to their past.
If you enjoy Extreme Metal with a twist then PANDEMONIUM is definitely right up your alley!
