Aican biography
AICAN is an instrumental heavy progressive rock band based in Yekaterinburg, Russia and formed in the Winter of 2009 by drummer Roman VARAKSIN, guitarist Ilya MALTSEV, guitarist Vitaly "Krikston" PERELADOV, and bassist Veyachezlav "Heid" BAL. The band draws heavy influence from many prog rock and prog metal influences, including the likes of KING CRIMSON, TOOL, OCEANSIZE, PORCUPINE TREE, ISIS, THE FALL OF TROY, and MOGWAI.
The band's heavy, sludge-based progressive rock style is described by the band as "Evolution rock," and combines a multitude of styles into a heavy yet melodic blend of complex compositions. The band released their debut EP "Art Saves / Kills" in late 2011.
