THE OMEGA EXPERIMENT is a experimental prog metal band from Muskegon, Michigan formed by the duo of Dan WIETEN and Ryan ALDRIDGE. The band features heavy guitar sounds, euphoric synths and rich layered vocals that all come together to create a wall of progressive rock lushness!

The sound of the band is highly reminiscent of Devin TOWNSEND, who has publicly praised the band on multiple occasions. But it would be unjust to merely write off THE OMEGA EXPERIMENT as a one trick pony since their sound also features eclectic soundscapes and quirkiness that reminds of bands like A.C.T. At the same time, the band's experimental approach often features fusions with other genres, most notable with that of Jazz Rock/Fusion, similar to that of MATS-MORGAN BAND.

After releasing the "Karma EP" for free through Bandcamp, on January 31 2011, it took THE OMEGA EXPERIMENT another year to release their full length self-titled studio release, released on February 14, 2012. As of summer 2011, the band has a full live line-up in place and plans to be a touring act.

THE OMEGA EXPERIMENT is highly recommended to fans of eclectic metal music that like to hear great variety of sounds and styles in their progressive music!
