Sunpocrisy biography
SUNPOCRISY is an experimental/post metal band from Brescia, Italy formed in 2007 initially as a 4-piece death/progressive band. The idea was already in Jonathan PANADA's (Guitars & Vocals) and Carlo GIULINI's (Drums) mind since 2005 and the first compositions were written in 2006 when Matteo BONERA (Guitars) joined the band; Gabriele ZAMPIERI (Bass & Vocals) completed the quartet in 2007. A year in their creation, they recorded and self-produced their debut 4-track EP entitled ''Atman EP'', which was released as a limited edition of a hundred copies with different artwork for each copy. Following this, the quartet started playing live with bands such as THE OCEAN, AHAB, IN MOURNING, BLACK SUN AEON etc. in 2009.

In 2010 they were placed 4th in the unsigned band contest 'Wacken Metal Battle'; their next musical direction would be more complex and eventually they were re-formed into a 6-piece Post/Progressive band with the addition of Stefano GRITTI (Synth) and Marco TABACCHINI (Guitars & Noise). Late 2011 saw the band entering the studio to record their debut album ''Samaroid Dioramas'', a concept engineered at Studio 73 by Riccardo Pasini, who has also worked with bands like EPHEL DUATH, THE SECRET, AMIA VENERA LANDSCAPE etc.

The band mentions influences from ISIS, CULT OF LUNA, INTRONAUT, THE OCEAN, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, and their sound could be described as an exciting combination of the above and more artistic/experimental bands like TOOL.
