Highest Place biography
The group formed in Granby, Québec, Canada in 1999 when Kevin ISABELLE (guitar, vocals) met Nicolas TREMBLAY (drums) in high school, and started playing covers of classic rock and metal groups. Later that year, a friend of Kevin, Francis VIENS joins them on bass. In February 2002, Pierre LAUZIER (guitars) and Frederic PLOUFFE (vocals) join the band, which then chooses HIGHEST PLACE as their official name. A number of cover songs and small shows preceded the composition, recordings (June 2002 - December 2003) and mastering (January 2004) of their debut album ''First Sight'', produced initially to 1000 copies. A few more shows followed, before the composition and release of their second album in the following year. Recording of ''Dilemma's'' took place between May and September 2005, whilst PLOUFFE left the band, with ISABELLE taking up the vocals and keyboards for the album.

The group is looking for compositions for the new album, having one completed song entitled ''And We Thought It Was Modern...'', but there is little information about their current plans. Their sound can be described as a strange mix of technical heavy/thrash metal and progressive metal with punk rock influences (more evident in their debut). They have been compared to bands such as WATCHTOWER, ATHEIST, but also SIEGES EVEN and PSYCHOTIC WALTZ.
