Echidna biography
ECHIDNA is a progressive death metal band, formed in Thessaloniki, Greece in 2004 by Giannis CHIONIDIS (drums), Nikos PARASTATIDIS (guitars) and Panos BOUKLIS (guitars, REX MUNDI). In 2005, Nikos METAXAS (bass) and Theo DELIGIANNIDIS (vocals) complete the line-up, and the band begins the composistion of their own songs. Through 2005 and 2006, they record their first demo ''This Suffering'' in Drumland Studio and Underground Studio in Thessaloniki, which is completed in July 2006. Having supported TANKARD and CYNIC on stage, they start recording their debut album at Underground Studio. Recordings are completed in April 2009 and the band makes appearances in Belgium and Scotland. METAXAS leaves the band in May 2009 and is replaced by Antonis RODITIS in October. Their debut album ''Manifests of Existence'' is finally released digitally in April 2010.

ECHIDNA's sound ranges from jazzy intervals and melodic death passages to relentless extreme blast beats and will appeal to fans of CYNIC, ATHEIST, DEATH but also to those who enjoy more straightforward technical thrash/death metal.
