Killed On X-Mas biography
Heavy Krautrock trio KILLED ON X-MAS emerged from Rostock in Northern Germany during the mid-nineties. The band was one of a number of experimental music projects involving guitarist/vocalist ZINNOBER, who later formed THRON with members of TRIP TO ELARA and WONGA.
The band's 1994 debut album ''Christ!'' is exemplary of their garagey improvisations. Fortified with intermittent psychedelic and metal emissions, the sound is propelled by edgy guitars and guttural, coughed-up vocals. However, on the follow-up ''The Second Wonder'' (a 1997 EP) and the valedictory ''The Lost Hamburg Sessions'' (from 1996 but remastered and released on CD in 2005) the band sound even more pumped up and throw out a continuous stream of raw Post Rock/Metal-tinged discharges. The self-titled third album is a major departure from the other works with its strains of ambient and melodic space rock.
Their full discography is available to download via bandcamp. These works have also been released on CD but physical copies of their albums are rare and expensive, for example a copy of ''Christ!'' is currently selling on the internet for well over $1,000. Similar artists on the archive include GURU GURU, EARTH and THE WOUNDED KINGS.
