Formed in the year 2000, this act from Northern Italy actually began their career under the moniker of CHAOSPHERE until legal pressure resulted in a name-change to VISCERA///. Although their music was initially of a brutal grindcore nature, with subsequent releases they evolved quite dramatically into a band that incorporates strong elements of post-metal and psychedelia to their sound. To this day they haven't completely discarded their roots, resulting in an unusual blend of soothing ambiance and harsh ferocity, with vocals ranging from a space-rock influenced clean delivery to violent growling. By the time they had released their first full length album entitled ''Cyclops'', the evolution of their style was well underway. A departure from the brutal grind of their early releases, this recording was followed by two more full lengths, ''2: As Zeitgeist Becomes Profusion of the I'' and ''Caith Sith vs. Viscera///: Auge''. The current lineup consists of Mike B. on vocals, keyboards and guitars, G.C. on bass and Lix on drums.
