AS LIGHT DIES

As Light Dies biography
Based out of Madrid, Spain, AS LIGHT DIES is a pretty difficult band to categorize, as their influences are all over the map and they utilize as many of them as possible, often within the same song. Elements of death metal, post metal, black metal, power metal, gothic metal and math-core can be found within their music, which also boasts numerous shifts in tone from ballads to frenzied blast-beats. There's also a plethora of different vocals, including clean male singing, growls, rasps, operatic female singing and so on. A strong undercurrent of jazz permeates their work, and one of the band's unique features is the considerable amount of violin playing involved in their music.

Founded in 1999, they have so far released two full length albums, A Step Through the Reflection in 2007, and Ars Subtilior from Within the Cage, which followed in 2010. They also are featured within an ENSLAVED tribute album Ond - A Tribute released in 2012, covering As Fire Swept Clean The Earth. The current band roster consists of Oscar MARTIN on guitars and vocals, Jose YUSTE on bass, Pablo RAREJO on drums, Jesus VILLALBA on violin, and Daniel MAQUEDA on keyboards.
